This is a research class offered at the Cabrillo College Biology Department. It is designed to be more like an in-house internship than a class. Join us if you want to DO science and participate on “One People One Reef” research from the pacific islands of Micronesia! We will be doing molecular ecology projects, mostly focused in barcoding fish and understanding the evolutionary, ecological and conservation relevance of this technique.
But, what is this class about? Learn about it here, and you can also access the syllabus to review the content and see if that's something you would like to do with us!
You will learn a great set of skills that will make you feel comfortable in a laboratory setting and understand how scientists study evolutionary relationships. It will also be fun to be part of the process of doing science!
